MARC ORTEGA

Marc is from Ogden, Utah and is attending Utah State University where he is studying Mechanical Engineering. His favorite thing about Jackson Hole is laying outside with the women, looking up at the purdy stars at night. Out of all the superpowers out there, Marc wishes he had a lightning fast metabolism. And bowel control. He has traveled to Spain, France, Belize and Mexico. He has a celebrity crush on Shakira, but only when she’s sings in Spanish so those of you woman that have the hots for this guy, all you have to do is become Columbian and sing in Espanol! Marc loves to do anything outdoors and that will get him away from his textbooks. This is Marc’s 4th year on the river guiding whitewater rafting!

LEVI WISCOMBE

Levi is from The Hood/West Valley City, UT and is attending Utah Valley University where he is majoring in single women and minoring in marriage with an emphasis in dating techniques. His favorite memory on the river is when he “purposely” pinned is canoe and wrapped it around a tree. Levi loves the water which is why he is returning for his 4th year guiding rafts down the Snake River.  His hobbies are snowboarding, rockclimbing, playing the guitar, and blasting his car stereo while singing really really loud on long drives by himself.  He is also fluent in English, Spanish, Spanglish, and Mexican (Yes, four different languages). Clearly, Levi is the guide for you, if you’re interested he prefers phone numbers over tips.

JOSH PRISBREY

Josh Prisbrey is from Cedar City Utah and is currently at Southern Utah University working on a business degree. His greatest accomplishment in life was recently marrying his best friend Mo:) He enjoys ANYTHING outside but his top favorites are; snowboarding, swimming, river-sports and wake boarding. It would be safe to say that if it includes water he loves doing it. Josh has a love for people, and Will Smith, which is why he is returning for his 3rd time guiding the Snake River. Getting paid to take people down the river still boggles his mind when he thinks about it; it's too fun to be a job.

WHISKERS JONES

Tyler “Whiskers” Jones is from Bountiful, Utah. He recently graduated from Utah State University with a major in civil engineering and will continue his studies at the University of Utah in the fall.  He loves to paddle in all sorts of boats including rafts, kayaks, and even concrete canoes.  Whiskers was a freakishly awesome soccer goalie when he played for the USU men’s soccer team.  Now he reserves those skills for recreation leagues with his friends.  When he gets bored around the house he likes to go on long runs.  This ridiculous habit has led him to run the Top of Utah Marathon and the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay.  Whiskers started working as a whitewater guide in 2007.  This is his 2nd year with Teton Whitewater.

El habla espanol (si le caes bien).

AARON STRADER

Aaron is from T-ville, Utah and is attending School of Hard Knocks where he is studying women and possibly engineering. His celebrity crush is “Will Farrell. Because I AM him.” The superpower Aaron wishes he had was concrete bowels to process the massive amounts of food consumed. Something unique about this guy is he had black beans in his teeth last night that no one told him about. But they’re probably gone by now. Aaron has been on the river a few years… Some years were illegally and others legally. Those years involved lots of scuba diving and transportation of explosives.
TANNER NELSON

Tanner is from Yuma, Arizonia. He is attending Scottsdale Community College where he is studying AG Management. Tanner’s favorite thing about Jackson Hole is all the outdoor recreation and that when he’s up here, he “doesn’t have a worry in the world.” The worst job he ever had was once he had to go into man holes and pull out dead smelly havelinas (wild pigs). Even wearing two layers of masks, the smell still burnt his nose. He loves to hunt, go off roading, burn stuff, paintballing and camel boarding. Something interesting about Tanner is that he is the co-founder of O.R.K.A- Our Rockin’ Krazy Adventures. A group dedicated to having fun. This is Tanner’s 2nd year working on the river helping guide canoes and now whitewater rafting!
BRET HANSEN

Bret is from the sweet Sugar Land of Texas. When he isn’t on the river, he attends BYU where he is currently studying public health. This is Bret’s 3rd year working on the river and in those 3 years, he has guided both canoes and rafts. If you ask Bret what his favorite thing about Jackson Hole is, he will tell you, “Whitewater and white women.” His favorite river story is when his scouts hit a dead cow with their canoe. If he could have any super power, it would be “the power to move you.” Something VERY unique about Bret is when his mother’s water broke, it created a class 5 rapid. And last but not least, Bret’s favorite hobby is beard growing!
ERICA NELSON

Erica is from Riverton, Utah and just graduated from Utah State with a dual major in Communications and Spanish and a minor in “failure.” Her celebrity crush is Brad Pitt who apparently she will have a crush on forever… Sorry men. Her favorite thing about Jackson Hole is always discovering new things and she absolutely loves the mornings here. Out of all the stories in Jackson, her favorite is the one about the random wire hanging above the mellow mile… and the ferril cats that it leads to. Erica’s superpower that she wishes she has is to have a bottomless stomach so that she might constantly be eating. Something unique about this fun girl is her thumbs look more like big toes, rather than thumbs. She has lived in El Salvador and Spain and has traveled around Central America and Europe. The worst job she has ever had is cleaning poo out of really strange places at 4 in the morning as a janitor. Erica is new to the river this year but has been a lifelong lover of nature and activities done in close proximity to the river. This girl has pretty much done it all… so those of you that are interested in this chick, here is what she wants you to know about her... “I’m chronically late, youngest of 8, love to debate and free for a date!”

ANNA HUSTEDT

Though the “baby” of the bunch, this young firecracker from Sandy, UT doesn’t mess around. Coming from a background of competitive soccer and sunburn, Anna is now a tanned beauty, fully converted to the river. She measures in at 5’2”, but grows five inches taller once she hits the water. In fact, when she’s on command in the river, there is no “downstream” – orientation is determined by her position (i.e. up-Anna or down-Anna). Anna loves being outdoors, and the outdoors loves her. She is a semi-professional opera singer…or so anyone walking by the bathroom during bath time will tell you. When the winter creeps in, this nautical goddess studies Interior Design at Utah State University. But she keeps the love of the river inside her burning bright, so as to not freeze the river that runs in her veins. Her favorite quote, by Minna Antrim, states that “Between flattery and admiration there often flows a river of contempt” – so even though you can hardly resist it – try not to be jealous of this natural-born river nymph.
